I will say that this is a proud moment. It takes me a long time to use a product as I rotate so frequently. The bonus of that is I get to customise my skincare perfectly and I never get sick of the same products. The downside is I have way too many products on the go and I rather use them at their peak then worry about them expiring. Going forth I strive to use a set rotation to work through products more regularly … Yeah right. Like that’s going to happen.
Clarins – One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser.
It takes something that I still haven’t put my finger on for me to sacrifice the opportunity to use a luxurious lathering cleanser. So, when I am introduced to an exfoliating cleanser I always side eye. However, this did it for me. I took this to Europe and my skin couldn’t love it more. I did not take an exfoliant with me as I didn’t know what to expect from that cold winter air.
Orange Extract is packed full of anti-oxidants. It softens and provides a pleasant scent. Perfect pick me up in the morning. The texture of this is a medium grit. I do agree that you could use it daily, however, I would still incorporate it with liquid exfoliants for a more refined skin. Depending on your skin type of course. Clarins use Silica Micro Beads. Perfectly spherical to lightly buff the surface. It does lather nicely which I was not expecting with an exfoliating cleanser. Sodium Laurath Sulphate which can be derived from coconuts is a great foaming agent.
Repurchase?: Yes, have a backup ready.
Edible Beauty – Belle Frais Cleansing Milk
Firstly, I’m a sucker for packaging. The dark violet glassware makes takes this cleanser to the next level. It has a beautiful creamy texture and works well when you emulsify with water. I have successfully taken makeup off however it sat in my collection as a second cleanse. I want the ingredients to work on my skin. Not my SPF.
With a divine Coconut Oil base, I was pleasantly surprise that it does not leave a film like a coconut oil tends to do. Camellia Seed oil, rich in vitamins A, B, D & E works on the pollutants whilst a hint of Salicylic Acid resurface and purifies.
Repurchase?: Yes, I have so many cleansers I am working through but will return to this one day. Until then I recommend giving it a go.
LQD – Scrub
My favourite for shaving prep (Ironically my favourite shaving cream is also LQD). With an AHA to soften and resurface the skin, this picks the hairs up and assists with that smooth shave.
12% Glycolic Acid gets to work to soften the skin and the hair follicle, breaking down any barrier that might hinder the shaving process. Polyethylene Beads buff the skin carefully but don’t irritate with the mixture of AHA. Amazing formulation then incorporates Macadamia Oil to heal and nourish.
Repurchase?: Yes. Similar with cleansers I work through so many. I believe it has been reformulated with Jojoba Esters so even more appealing.
Arcona – Cranberry Gommage
OK. I don’t usually go buy products based on their scent. But with this, it won me over. It smells incredible. With a cocktail of anti-oxidants, it refines and protects.
Jojoba Esters worked wonders to lightly buff the skin and Cranberry Extract got to work on any P bacterial and potential breakouts. Light bit of Witch hazel to tone and Blueberry Extract for antioxidants.
Repurchase?: Yes, Works great but just to experience the smell.
Cosmedix – Pure Enzymes
I love a good enzymatic mask. This one smells amazing!!! A real plump to the skin. To read a full review see my previous post Product Bio: Cosmedix "pure enzymes".
Repurchase?: Yes, It’s not a bad product but I do look for something stronger these days so will do a bit more trialling.
Ole Henriksen – Truth Serum
Gotta have that vitamin C! I think this is my second or third and still a favourite. Works with a range of different skin type and really easy to recommend as its super hydrating.
Water based vitamin C with the main hitter being Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate. Green tea to health the skin and Aloe Vera to hydrate and protect.
Repurchase?: Yes, However currently working through my Hylamide C25 and its working wonders.
ASDM Beverly Hills – 100% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum
This is a staple. It is what says and is a "go-to" for anyone with damaged or sensitised skin. Building the lipid barrier back up and healing the skin.
The ingredients are simple and that’s why it works so well. Hyaluronic Acid combined with Grapefruit Extract to give a natural antimicrobial and natural preservative.
Repurchase: Yes, like a said a staple for me and my clients.
Estelle & Thild – Thirst Relief
I enjoyed this one. My skin reacted well and I found it plumped and hydrated well. I prefer to use this one as a mixer. The hydrating properties worked well with other serums both mixing and layering.
Hyaluronic Acid plumped and healed the skin beautifully and Liquorice Root brightens.
Repurchase: Yes, I feel like this would also be great for someone who is looking for a general serum that ticks all the boxes.
LQD – Shave
This does it for me!!! The only thing I can use as I suffer from razor bump and this is the only one I can use to control it. My skin generally does not react to other products but I can only use this if I want a super close shave without the razor irritation. Really great for females as well as its gentle on the skin.
Unusual texture from more creams and gels, I would class it more like a gel lotion. Glycerin and Aloe hydrate and lubricate the skin well, bring down and irritation. Camellia sinensis (Green Tea Extract) works on soothing the skin.
Repurchase?: Yes, need to get ma back up.
Vera Wang For Men
A long-time favourite since my David Jones counter days. Devine for day and night and my skin loves it. I think it has been discontinued, though. Moment of silence, please.
Sits in the Citrus and fresh spicy accords family’s and has notes of Mandarin, Yuzu, Anise, Nutmeg, Sandalwood and leather, truly is dreamy!
Repurchase?: Like I said I think it has been discontinued but I Do have 2 back-ups. I love it that much.
Let me know if you would like a more detailed review on anything you read above, I love reading empties and seeing what people have successfully finished. It’s a great way to see what people enjoy using.
Sidenote: I am completely self aware that i said dont by things as they smell good. Then listed how most of these smell great. Just enjoy the experince but also rely on the power of the product.
